  3. Thank you l
How do you know when it’s thick enough ? The longer you cook it, will it continue to thicken ? Ana if it’s a little runny when I place it into the jar to cool, will it continue to thicken as it cools ?

    1. Hey Jennifer. Yes, it does thicken some more as it cools. But, if it’s too liquidy then you can cook it off a bit more before you cool

As promised ~ easy and so delicious! Not sure this is going to make it into any recipe before it all ends up in my tummy!

    1. I hear you, Maria. I have to hide if from my kids too. They can eat this with a spoon out of the jar. Thanks for the feedback

What a great recipe, its quick and easy to do. I’ve been looking for a good strawberry jam filling recipe for french vanilla cake I make with home made whipped cream frosting, fresh strawberries and bananas, and this just made the cake absolutely perfect! I can’t wait to try this jam as a filling with other sweets.

    1. Thank you, Manila. So happy you enjoyed this so much. Thanks for coming back to write this feedback

YES! Veena this looks super simple and yummy! Do you happen to know how much this makes? How many cups does it come out to be? I plan to use it to fill a 12in round cake. Thank you so much!

    1. Hey Alison – the recipe card shows it makes approximately 2 cups. You will need to double the recipe to fill a 12 inch round cake. Thanks.

  9. Hi just wanted to.know if.i.could use this recipe to.make strawberrie and cream my question is how do i make the cream i wanted to make a 5 layed cake will this hold .. And im going to.cover the cake with buttercream thank you

    1. Hey Lisa. You can use this strawberry filling in a cake as a filling – is that your question?
How many layers you make depends on the type of cake you use, and how well you stack them.
I suggest – one layer filling and alternate with one layer buttercream to keep the balance.
      Thanks

      1. Hi thank you for.your reply doing 5 layers do i put cream with the strawberry then buttercream around the sides?. Wanted try cream and strawberry with vanilla cake.. How long does the strawberry last can it be left out when i do the cake or i need to.put in the friage i going to cover the cake with buttercream thank you

        1. Lisa. I have explained in detail in the post on how long you can keep it. You can put cream with the strawberry filling but it will not keep the creamy white.
I would spread the cream then layer the strawberries over gently. Or you can pipe a border of cream and add the filling in the middle. Or you can alternate between the two methods
See my strawberry cream cake for more details.

Hi. I don’t know what I did wrong. I made this twice today. It turned out the same both times. I did double the recipe, would that cause it not to set up? I was going to use it for A filling in a vanilla cake tomorrow. It seems drippy and runny. Certainly not thick enough for a cake. I have one batch in fridge but it is still too thin. Help please.

            1. Sounds like you didn’t cook it long enough Susan. Did you use frozen strawberries? If there is too much moisture in the berries you will need to cook it longer to evaporate the excess moisture. See the video for consistency of when to take it off the heat.
