  1. I’ve made your strawberry filling which came out great but I’m needing a seedless raspberry filling to put in between Linzer cookies. Will this recipe be thick enough? I’m using frozen raspberries so I’ll omit the 1/4 cup of water just to be on the safe side unless you tell me otherwise. Please respond as soon as you can. Thanks…

    1. Tammie. The thickness will depend on how long you cook it. Also, take note that it will get thicker as it cools.
For a seedless filling, you will need to pulse in the food processor and strain the raspberries then continue with the recipe in which case you can omit the water to make it thicker.

      1. Thanks for replying and for the tips. I’m going to make this tomorrow. I’ll make sure to come back and let you know how it came out. Thanks again… ?

  2. I would like to ask…
I noticed this recipe is 1/2 tsp of salt and your strawberry filling recipe is 1/8 tsp or a pinch. Is this one really 1/2 tsp? I have made the strawberry, it was amazing & beautiful! Worked wonderfully on my mom’s birthday cake. This raspberry is heavy on salt taste. Does this change once it cools?

  3. would this be good for a cream puff fillig? i am needing to add some rasberry as well as the pastry cream

  4. Is this filling ok to freeze after being made??

    1. Yes, Maddie. I always freeze because I make three batches at once. That way it is always in the freezer for my cakes.

YUM. Raspberry is one of my favorite fruit flavors in dessert – this would work with so many different things! So smart to have it on hand.

Well my grandkids LOVE raspberries. This would be perfect on ice cream, waffles, in yogurt…and of course tarts. With berry season here, what a great way to put them to good use.

    1. Definitely perfect on Ice Creams Gloria. My kids love vanilla ice cream with lots of fruit fillings.
