This looks amazing, I love apple pie, but don’t always want to fuss around with rolling the pie dough and all that, this looks like it has all the traditional flavors of apple pie, but with a more simplified process, I can’t wait to try making this. I think it looks impressive enough to serve to guests!

    1. It truly makes an impressive presentation Jennifer.. I hope you try it. Thanks for the lovely comment

This strudel sounds divine. I love granny smith apples – they are my favourite. I have had strudel before, but I don’t think ti was this interesting. The addition of the raisins just puts it into overdrive for me. Am I the only one who thinks raisins are the new comfort food? LOL

    1. Thanks Byron. I do think that Raisins are a great treat in strudel. I agree with granny smith too! My daughter is like you – she loves rainsins too.

I’ve actually never used filo dough before because I’ve always been a little intimidated by it but I just love how flaky this dessert looks and then with the apples?! Oh I need to get over my fear of filo and try this out!

    1. Oh Filo is easy Sara.. you will be pleasantly surprised.. just keep in wrapped under a damp cloth so it does not dry out.. You will be amazed ad how much you can do with it.

I have never made an apple strudel. It looks delicious and something I would love to attempt. Filo pastry is fun to work with, not to mention totally delicious.

I have made a quick version of puff pastry before (called “rough puff pastry”). But it’s still much easier to use the frozen kind!
