- Milk: Any type of milk can be used, such as dairy milk, almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.
- Sweetener: Honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup can be replaced with sugar, stevia, or other sweeteners. Adjust the amount based on your desired sweetness.

Notes
-
- Use Ripe Bananas: Ripe bananas are sweeter and blend more easily, providing a better flavor and texture for the smoothie.
-
- Soak Dates: If your dates are not soft, soak them in warm water for 10-15 minutes before blending to soften them and make them easier to blend.
-
- Adjust Liquid: Depending on your desired consistency, you may need to adjust the amount of liquid (milk or water) you use. Start with a smaller amount and add more as needed.
-
- Blend Thoroughly: Blend the ingredients on high speed for at least 30-60 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. This will ensure that the dates are thoroughly blended and there are no lumps.
-
- Customize: Feel free to customize the recipe by adding ingredients like yogurt, nut butter, protein powder, or spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg to suit your taste preferences.
-
- Serve Cold: For a refreshing drink, chill the smoothie in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving, or add ice cubes to the blender for a colder temperature.
-
- Garnish: Sprinkle some chopped nuts, seeds, or a dash of cinnamon on top of the smoothie for added texture and flavor.

One of my favorite smoothies from a local shop is a banana date one! I have never been a protein powder person so I think I may sub with a nut butter and cross my fingers that I’m still getting enough protein but other than that substitute this recipe looks great! Love how you use dates and banana as natural sweeteners.
Thanks Fliona.. Yes the dates and Bananas are great sweetness and texture. Thanks
I love adding dates to smoothies – they give just enough sweetness without added sugar.
