Notes
- Use quality ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality red bell peppers, creamy goat cheese, and a good baguette for the best flavor.
- Roast the peppers properly: Char the red peppers under the broiler or over an open flame until the skin is blackened and blistered. This will give them a smoky flavor. Let them steam in a covered bowl to make peeling easier.
- Toast the bread just right: Slice the baguette evenly and toast it until it’s crispy on the outside but still slightly soft on the inside. This will ensure a nice texture for the crostini.
- Prepare the goat cheese spread: Mix the goat cheese with minced garlic, salt, and pepper to taste. You can also add a splash of olive oil for extra creaminess.
- Assembly: Spread a thin layer of the goat cheese mixture onto each crostini. Top with a few strips of roasted red pepper. For added flavor, drizzle with a bit of balsamic glaze or honey.
- Garnish: Finish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs like basil or parsley for a pop of color and added freshness.
- Serve immediately: Crostini are best served fresh, so assemble them right before serving to maintain their crispy texture.
