When you combine the ingredients, do you just mix them with a fork or mash them together with your hands kind of like when making meatloaf?

    1. Amy I just combine it because it’s all already ground up well – so I only need to blend the ingredients Thanks

I have never made my own gefilte fish, but am tempted to… I never knew it was so easy! Thank you also for the tip re: simmering the cinnamon and lemon to make the house smell nice once finished.

    1. It really is so easy if you don’t have to do all the fish cleaning and fish stock from scratch. I hope you try it. Thanks

I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of fish. But, this recipe looks like something I would love!! Love the flavors of beets and horseradish. So good!!Happy Passover!

    1. Thank you Jessica. Wish you the same. I love fish generally but have never been a fan of Gefilte. My family loves it and I’m told I do an excellent job so I make it every year.

I was just researching how to host a Passover dinner since I have never experienced one, so this post was very helpful and timely! I’m hoping to do a simple one for my family next week.

    1. Thank you Amy, yes this is just a gist of it. They really do love Passover here so it’s a huge deal. But Gefilte fish is the most important to them at the seder.
