This recipe looks delicious and we love a good ground beef curry. I must be missing something as you write in the notes section “Let the tomatoes become soft, so they disappear in the sauce.”, however I saw no call for tomatoes in the ingredients, just tomato paste. Going to try is as is for supper tonight, and hope for the best. Thank you!

    1. Betty, the recipe uses tomato paste, but if you choose to use fresh tomatoes, you must cook it down well so it disappears in the sauce.

This was absolutely delicious and so easy to make. Thank you for the wonderful recipe. I’ll make this again.

  3. About to make this recipe, sounds delicious. Do you think it would be good served over sweet potatoes?

    1. I usually don’t serve Indian curries over potatoes.Potato would usually be a side dish. But it’s a personal preference.
I love curry with Quinoa, Buckwheat, or even couscous if I’m looking to replace my rice or naan.
      Hope this helps.

This I will make again; made with no deviation. Tasted at every stage throughout, and pleased with all stages, so much so that I was nearly full before the finished recipe. Two small additions next time; a bit more ginger and a diced jalapeno or serrano with the onion, and adjust the cayenne accordingly, although I like the heat of both. And possibly a pinch of coconut sugar. Do not omit the lemon, and maybe a pinch of zest, as that acidity is mandatory. Thanks for your expertise and creativity.

This is totally delicious! I love Indian food, and it’s fun to make the more complex recipes, but this was so quick and easy. Perfect for a last minute meal decision. I added some partially cooked potato chunks and peas. This is a winner!

Very tasty! I made it last night. Had to double ingredients as I had 2 pounds of ground beef thawed. Luckily I did not double the cayene but still had to add coconut cream to tone down the heat. I’m sure this would have been even better if I had fresh cilantro but all I had was dried parsley.
I did have an issue with the hamburger making too much water and had to drain it out. Next time I’ll do the burger first then the onions.
Thank you for posting such great instructions and hints.

    1. I always just cook the onion and hamburger at the same time in almost every hamburger with onion dish I make. Can’t detect a difference and it saves time and energy.
