    1. Thank you, Laidor. You can switch half the butter with vegetable shortening if you prefer.

  3. Day 2 done. This was really enlightening.
    I just started learning cake decoration, when I tried making my buttercream, I used butter, sugar, milk and a little water. The consistency was perfect but the colour was separating after I frosted my cake. I don’t still understand where it went wrong.

    1. Sometimes small things could be a culprit. Temperature, humidity often play a big part, especially in warm countries. Every buttercream is different which is why I have troubleshooting and FAQ in most recipes. Please check individual recipes for more info.
