Made this beef curry this week, and it was so delicious my kids are already asking me to make it again. I serve this with naan next time I am trying out the chapati.

I used brisket and cooked slowly for 8 hours in the slow cooker. It was delicious.

Do you think this would work with coconut cream rather than yogurt for a dairy free option or be to strong from the spices?

    1. Yes, absolutely, Jacinta. This would work great with thick coconut cream too. Follow the same process.

  6. I’ve put all ingredients in slow cooker, but seems a bit dry, would adding coconut milk be ok

Thanks for the recipe. I added a lot my water like you instructed since I’m having it with rice. Smells heavenly and tastes even better. Thank you!

  8. Can I use venison? Would you do anything different with venison?

    1. Yes, Venison will work well in this recipe too. Just cook same time until fork tender.

  9. Hi there,

I was a little confused as to what it was I was supposed to bring to a boil? The only liquid in the recipe was 2 tsp of water, the yogurt, and lemon juice…..I added everything as you said but I also used a cup of beef broth, and a can of coconut milk. Would you please correct me if I am wrong about the liquids. Thanks. Only another 7 hrs before I find out how it turns out!! Take care.

    Ryan.

    1. Hey Ryan, Yes, the yogurt, lemon juice, and water along with the natural juices of the meat would be enough liquid to bring to a boil. Bring to a boil does not mean it has to be swimming in liquid, though you will see little bubbles in there. Having said that you can add more water if you want to serve this over rice. I think you will enjoy this. Do let me know. Thanks

Hi, I’m really excited to try this recipe I’m a little nervous though because it looks as if the yogurt curdled when I added it in. I’m not sure if it was the timing with the lemon juice, but it has all separated the way the curdled yogurt does. Where did I go wrong? And is it still okay to eat?

        1. Sounds like the yogurt curdled. Was the yogurt too cold? And yes, the lemon juice perhaps made it curdle too. Give it a good stir and it should be ok. And, yes it is still ok to eat it.
