What a delightful post Veena with tips and tricks for Mirror Glaze. Christmas is less than a month to go and we definitely need more bake guides.

I love your video! Can the glaze Be used with Brownies? What I’m wondering is if there’s a way to have the cakes without being refrigerated afterwards

    1. The idea of the glaze is to creat a smooth satiny finish!! You think you can make your brownies smooth so the glaze will just pour over ? If yes then go ahead. Personally I think brownie is a rough texture and taste better with a simple chocolate frosting instead of a glaze. If you do experiment I’d love to hear the outcome. Thanks

Maybe frost it with buttercreme first. Then refrigerate, and add the glaze. I did that with a chocolate cake & it worked fine!

Hi Veena . What do you do with the leftover glaze . Is there anything apart from using it for another cake these glaze s can be used . Really will appreciate your Answer . Also my glaze was pretty transparent I mean I could see my mousse through thr glaze it was runny . Where to u think I went wrong .

    Thanks

    1. Unfortunately Anu that is the disadvantage of such recipes while they are very glamorous, you have to make more to cover a small cake and have left overs. I have some left over in my fridge too. My kids love it so they often nibble on it cause it’s chocolate but will have to figure out a recipe for the left over glaze.. Well next time try adding a little less water may be or wait for the glaze to get cooler so it’s more thicker. I use the same quantity as in the video and it was much thicker

I reused the glaze that dripped. I added a little melted dark chocolate to it and heated for a minute in the microwave. When it cooled, it poured and set beautifully. I also used corn syrup instead of glucose. Perfect glaze recipe. Poured and covered like a dream. Thank you!

        1. You can replace the veg gelatine with Agar Agar dear. I don’t get agar agar very easily here

Hi Veena, thanks for this, they look great!

Do these cakes need refrigeration once decorated?

    1. The glaze does not need to be refrigerated really but most often these cakes on the inside are made with perishable ingredients. This is a chocolate mousse cake so yes it has to be refrigerated. But the glaze itself is not a problem

Veena is glucose the same as corn syrup?

    1. I think you can use corn syrup instead of glucose but I have not tried it yet. It is quite similar <3
