Secrets to Baking Incredible Cakes
Want to learn my secrets to baking incredible cakes? Want to learn how to bake from scratch? Would you like to take your baking skills to the next level? Then, this masterclass is for you.

With every new recipe I share, my goal is to help you become a better baker. And, I write detailed posts along with my recipes so you can learn not just how to bake that recipe but also to become a better baker.
While I have had many baking failures over the years, my failures have only made me a better baker. In this masterclass, I will share with you the lessons I’ve learned from these experiences.
I want you to bake with me. My recipes are tried and tested, so I’m confident you will experience success. And yet, sometimes there will be failures. Hence, I want you to know that I am with you, to help you troubleshoot and learn from these failures.
Also, join the Facebook group, share your pictures and get feedback from me when you join this masterclass.
Here’s what’s going to happen in the next two weeks.
Week 1
- We are going to understand our ingredients
- How to use them
- When and how to substitute them
- And how to master them
The first step in becoming a great baker is to understand your ingredients. The best part about understanding your ingredients is that you are in control – not your ingredients. That’s my first secret to baking.
Week 2
We will do some baking!
I will send you recipes and you will need to follow them and bake. After all, unless you apply the knowledge you have learned you will never know if you have learned it. Right?
Every day, for the next five days, I will send you one recipe, or a choice of two recipes. You will bake one recipe (a simple cake). Don’t worry we will start from the basics and move on to more challenging recipes.
Tools I need for this course?
I am no a slave to tools but there are a few tools that do make cake decorating easier. I have listed a few cake tools here that you may consider investing in.
Finally
Your success in this masterclass is largely dependent on your participation in the course material.
So, I highly encourage you to read the material and to practice the assignments. And, bake some cake.
While you can’t share your cake with me perhaps you can still share the pictures with me on my Facebook Group. I look forward to seeing your hard work.

Yes, we start with the lessons and then move on to baking. After all, how will you learn if you don’t put your knowledge to practice?
You don’t need a camera to take pictures. Your phone camera is adequate. Just make sure your images are clear, not blurred.
This masterclass is given via a series of emails. You don’t need to do anything. During this two-week masterclass, every day, you will get an email from me with the content and assignment for that particular lesson. Follow the lessons and instructions, and do the assignment for each day.
Absolutely, but don’t do them all at once.
If you do them one at a time, you will be able to give each masterclass the time and energy it needs.

A great start in this new year! A very well spent two weeks improving my baking skills. Thank you Veena for sharing and caring.
So happy to hear that Jackie.
I am a home baker. I bake for my kids. My cakes failed few times when I eagerly baked for kids’ birthdays. I was heartbroken. My friends came to know I bake and started to ask for their kids’ birthdays. That’s when I thought I should take it to the next level. I wanted to learn cake decorating professionally. I searched for classes. I have to travel and stay in order to attend the classes in person. Also the classes are expensive. My kid’s birthday is coming soon. I was searching for fondant decorating techniques. That’s when I accidentally clicked onto your blog. I got more interested when I finished reading. I explored your website and I’m so happy that I found it. I was happier when I found you have masterclasses. The classes are very useful. I didn’t know there are so many things to be taken care of while baking. The roles and differences in ingredients, the measuring methods, etc., Your website is a boon to the bakers. I have read so many recipes, but noone gives so much information from personal experiences. The masterclass is loaded with lot of information that every baker needs. I would highly recommend your class to my friends.
Thank you, Preethi. I am so happy to hear that this masterclass was useful. Thank you for the feedback.
Hi Veena, thanks a lot for your tutorial. You’re an amazing teacher &your cakes really do look yummy!!! I look forward to more tutorials from you.
Thank you. Vivian
Hi Veena,
I am only a home/hobby baker and have just started baking early this year so I have some limited experience and knowledge about baking cakes. Most recipes don’t explain how each ingredient affects the cake so I don’t really know the science behind it. I just follow recipes rather ‘blindly’. I must admit I didn’t expect much from the Masterclass after signing up (sorry for that) but I was totally wrong! I was blown away by the immense knowledge you have shared about the ingredients, technique, etc. and how each of these things can affect the finished product. I’m also impressed that each recipe comes with something like a FAQ and many options that goes with a recipe. Being a beginner baker, I am hungry for as much information I can learn and yours was perfect! I can say that I definitely have learned so much in 2 weeks. I’m so glad I have taken this free masterclass and would recommend it to friends. I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you’ve put into sharing your knowledge and experience.
Btw, I have only baked your light and fluffy vanilla cake and loved it! I was not able to bake cakes daily as there’s only I, my husband, and almost 3-year old who will eat the cake – so baking cake everyday is not practical for me. I promise to try them all over several weeks.
Thank you. God bless you and you will surely see me again in your other masterclasses. ?
