    This is very interesting. A lot of my cookbooks also talk about shortening but I’ve never seen it here where I live. Would love to try making a pie crust with it. Looks like I’ve got some hunting to do!

    I’ve been looking for a recipe to try and yours seems like a recipe I could work with. The tips are great too. As I am a non baker, things like cutting the butter cold or not over kneading due to the warmth of my hands is not something I would even think about! Thanks!

    1. Thanks, Amy. Yes, the trick is to keep the butter chilled at all times from start right up to baking.
