    Just made this chocolate mousse cake – thank you so much. I was first contemplating making it with the classic eggs, but you are right – too much hassle. This one was easy and I know I will make it again. The mousse was so rich and creamy from the mascarpone. Will try more recipes from your blog – glad I found you.

    Hello Veena,
    I am going to attempt this recipe, this upcoming weekend. Can I use regular cream cheese instead of mascarpon?

      Stephen, you sure can use regular cream cheese, but the taste and richness you get from mascarpone make a huge difference. If possible use at least half mascarpone

      I also experienced the same issue with this recipe. It appears there was too much liquid and it wasn’t baking at all even after 2 hours.

        Hey Din, The base is a classic chocolate torte with just chocolate, butter, and eggs. It can take about an hour but it does set in the fridge beautifully. Thanks

        Yes, Nandini, you can use chocolate chips but try using a bar of good quality chocolate for the best flavor. And, try my eggless chocolate cake.

    Hi Veena,
    Fellow Bombayite here..I have been following your recipes and enjoyed my recent success making strawberry domes. I was wondering if you help me figure out how to convert this recipe to a chocolate mousse dome. I can skip the cake for the insert and use some biscuit. Also I’d prefer agar agar.

    Hi Veena,
    Your cake looks amazing! I’m trying to make it at the moment and if I should use dark chocolate or can I use milk chocolate. Hoping it won’t be too bitter.

      Hey Tammy, yes, you can use milk chocolate too. It will be slightly sweeter but if thats what you prefer go for it.
