  3. Hi. I made the white wedding cake recipe. I used 2 6″ pans. Filled them both the same. I used cake strips to keep them loo level. Oven temp was 320°. One cake turned out perfect, the other one sunk. This was a practice/tasting cake as I’m making my nieces wedding cake in Sept. What went wrong?

    1. Sounds like your oven is not heating evenly, Janet. Are you baking one up and one down? Sounds like one cake is not getting enough heat so it’s sinking. You can bake one at a time on the middle rack. Or use a fan assisted oven. You can also turn the pan over during baking… top / down – front / back.
