Ingredients
1sheet(245g)Puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
Roast the Garlic: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the top off the head of garlic to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Wrap in foil, and roast for 30-35 minutes until the garlic is soft and golden.
1 head Garlic bulb, 2 tbsp Olive oil, Salt and pepper to taste
Garlic butter: Allow to cool slightly, then squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins into a bowl. Mash the roasted garlic with the softened butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.
4 tbsp Unsalted butter, 1 sheet Puff pastry
Prepare the Puff Pastry: Preheat (or reduce) the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases. Spread the roasted garlic butter evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry. Sprinkle the grated cheeses evenly over the garlic butter.
½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese, ¼ cup Grated Emantel , ¼ cup Grated cheddar
Shape the Twists: Fold the puff pastry in half, pressing gently to seal. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the pastry into 1-inch-wide strips. Twist each strip gently to create the twists, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Finishing Touches: Brush each twist with the beaten egg to give them a glossy finish. Sprinkle the white and black sesame seeds evenly over the twists.
1 small Egg, 1 tbsp white sesame seeds, 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
Bake: Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the twists are golden brown and puffed. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
