Eggnog Buttercream Frosting
Add the flavor of the Christmas eggnog into your frosting. Made with homemade eggnog, this eggnog buttercream is simple, easy, and delicious. With a touch of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon infused with a little booze, this custardy drink is the perfect festive treat. It takes five minutes to make and can be used to frost it over cakes, cupcakes, or between macaron shells.

Ingredients
- 8 oz Unsalted butter room temperature
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- ¼ cup Eggnog
- 1 lb Powdered sugar (1 lb is about 4 cups)
- ¼ tsp Salt
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream butter for a minute then, add the salt and vanilla extract.
- Followed by the eggnog. Add powdered sugar in three batches and combine well.
- Once all the powdered sugar is in - whip for three minutes until light and fluffy.
- Frost cake or cupcakes.

- Note -
- If you need a stiff buttercream frosting - add only 2 tbsp eggnog.
- ¼ cup eggnog gives a pipeable buttercream frosting - I use this consistency for cakes.
- Use up to ½ cup eggnog for a soft consistency frosting - I prefer a soft consistency for my cupcakes.
