Be My Valentine Collaboration Cake
Today I want to share my most latest collaboration cake. But first wish you all a Very Happy Valentine’s Day!
I was recently asked to be part of a meaningful Valentine’s Day Collaboration that took the meaning of love beyond just two individuals, beyond just hearts and roses. We were asked to pick a topic that is also an issue and related to love.
Love has no Religion
The purpose of any religion is to facilitate love and compassion, patience, tolerance, humility and forgiveness.
This is a topic very close to my heart – I grew up with many sacrificing love in the name of religion. I saw it then as a child, I see it now.
For years I have seen my own friends give up on their love because they came from either Hindu or Muslim background while their partner from the other background. Some gave up on love and married into what their family thought was best for them.
Now I see it happening her in this country I live; where love between a Jew and Muslim is frowned upon.
I personally am Catholic and married a Jew but I know there are many elders in my community that frown on it. I was lucky my own family was supportive and gave me their blessings.
Love has no cultural boundaries and religious prejudices. And yet we see many who have to fight for love or give up on their love because of these religious prejudices. .
My piece is to share that – Love has no religion.
You can fine more pictures of the other artist on the collaboration page.
Here are a few more close up shots for you to see the cake and what it means.
The two figures are a Jewish boy in love with a Muslim girl. I know very controversy but it’s true. Some day I hope people will love without religious prejudices. And of course the bottom tier speak of the couples religion!!
