Inspired by the fairy tale this Jack and the Beanstalk cake was made for the Stylize Fairy Tale Collaboration with cake artist all around the world to create our fairy tale story with our way in the cake form.

Stylized fairy tale collaboration
This was an amazing collaboration and so much fun to work with other cake artist from around the world. Usually most collaborations we can pick our own story but in this it was different using a lottery system. So the groups admin picked the fairy tales and distributed them to use based on the chits she picked out. Most challenging but so much more fun. You can see all the cakes by other artist on our Facebook Page - Stylized Fairy Tale Cakes.

Guidelines
While we were given the fairy tale story we also have to make sure we did not violate any copyright that may be involved. So we had strict instruction to not make any cake that would have the same exact details, figures or characters from the story. More challenging !!
Inspiration, interpretation and cake style
If you look at the cake I think you can instantly tell it's based on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk - right? I wanted to created something that would fit in my cake style as an artist. My personal style and preference is - I love wedding cakes and Sugar Flowers. To me less is more so I like keeping thing simple classy and elegant. And that's what I tried to keep in my cake.

About this cake
- The cake Tiers are 6, 8 and 10 inch dummy cakes. The middle is 10 inch tall.
- All cakes were covered in white Satin Ice fondant then airbrushed with Magic Colors - garden green, Ice Blue and a little black.
- The beanstalk and forest on the bottom is hand painted in black gel colors - free hand.
- The twigs are florist wires twisted to look like that.
Here's a close up of the forest

Personally I was very pleased with how the cake turned out. I think it was well received too.

Featured on Satin Ice and Pretty Witty Cakes
I was honored that this cake was featured on two credible Cake Blogs - Satin Ice and Pretty Witty Cakes. In fact was so honored that Suzi of Pretty Witty Cakes had some really sweet things to say about me and my cake.

I can actually vision the story Jack and the beanstalk. This is so creative - If I had to make this cake it would not be so classy but so much of extra stuff to bring out the story. You have been very creative and with such simplicity got the vision on cake. You are so talented.
