Grainy Buttercream and Buttercream consistency
If you have made butter cream more than once then you know that if you do not mix or whip your butter cream well, or if you do not use the right type of powder sugar, the resulting butter cream can have a very grainy outcome.
Speaking of grainy butter cream another important aspect of buttercream is it’s consistency. How much liquid you add to your batch of buttercream should actually depend on what you intend to use it for. The consistency for piping roses is not the same as the consistency for crumb coating your cake.
