Charlie and the Peanut Friends
This is one of my recent cakes and I had so much fun making it. We recently saw the movie and the kids loved it. Even Ziv and me loved the movie really.
I made this for a lovely little girl Sidney who has been taking cakes from me for a few years now. This was her 7th birthday cake. Every year her mom Danielle really comes up with such cool cake themes for me that making her cakes becomes so exciting. I love trying new designs and this was sure fun.
Danielle knew exactly what she wanted and sent me the design. The plan was to get the characters printed on edible paper and then stick them onto the 2D fondant plaques. BUT!! as luck had it. The shop where I usually buy my edible printouts had been closed and the other seemed to have their printer ink over so no more printing for a couple of days. Which means I had no choice but to do the hand painting myself.
So it was back to school with the paintbrush and watercolor style. My only concern was, of course, was matching the colors but luckily I managed to get them just right. I was honestly very happy with how they turned out
The bottom tier is my VAOC Chocolate Caramel Cake with Chocolate Ganache (I love this cake and I hope to add it to my online shop Calculated recipe collection soon) and
The Middle Tier is my VOAC Classic Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream
The Top tier is my Baking a Cake from scratch Vanilla Cake Recipe with Vanilla Buttercream.
The house on the top is made from Rice Krispy treats and covered in fondant. I shared with you how I made and use Rice Krispy treats in cake decorating already.
The whole cake is Airbrushed with Magic Color Airbrush Colors. I already told you I use only Magic Colors and Love them.
The bottom tier is the cake I used in my video on how to get Share Edges with Ganache. I also have a video showing you how I get sharp Edges on Buttercream cakes too.
I do have a video on the Airbrushing as well. I plan to put that as a bonus video on one of my video on how to dowel cakes which is not out yet. Hopefully soon.
