Cake Decorating Masterclass – Email Series

First, let me start by saying that just taking a class for cake decorating doesn’t make you a professional cake decorator. No.

However, you can pursue a cake decorating career if you have a passion for it.

What we will learn in this course are the basics of cake decorating. And, these basics will be useful for you, not just for professional cake decorating, but also for decorating any cake or dessert. As a result, you will be able to impress your family and friends with your kids’ birthday cakes, anniversary or other celebration cakes.

Once you complete this two-week masterclass series, you will be able to take a perfect layer cake to your next event and everyone will ask you: where did you order this cake from?

Most importantly, you will enjoy making your next dessert. In fact, you may even consider making your own (or your loved ones) wedding cake.

So, basically, this class will give you confidence and skills that you can apply to your personal or professional goals.

PLEASE NOTE – Most recipes in this masterclass are made with eggs or non-vegetarian products. If you can’t eat eggs please do not register for this masterclass. Currently, I do not have eggless substitutes for these recipes. I truly apologize.

What’s in this class?

Cake decorating is a broad craft and art form. As a result, it may be somewhat intimidating for beginners.

So, we are going to break it down into small bite-size pieces so it is not too overwhelming.

We are going to dedicate some days to reading and some days to practical learning.

And, instead of doing one long course for 3 months, we are going to break it down into smaller topics, starting with the basics in the next two weeks.

In particular, we will start by understanding the process of cake decorating.

  • What we do?
  • Why we do it?
  • How we do it?
  • What is the right way to do it?
  • And, how to troubleshoot when things go wrong?

Week One  (7 days)

The first week will be dedicated to learning the theory of cake decorating. Similar to any other topic, you first have to read and understand it before you can put it to practical use.

Week Two (5 days)

Next, we will bake and frost a buttercream cake from scratch. Putting everything we learned in week one into practice.

Tools I need for this course?

I am no a slave to tools, but there are a few tools that do make cake decorating easier. Therefore, I have listed a few cake tools here that you may consider investing in.

Submission and feedback

All through the masterclass, you will take pictures and post them in our private Facebook Group so you can share notes with me.

And, as I do in my all masterclasses, I will view your pictures and provide you with my feedback. I will also give you suggestions and advice for improvements. And, I will help you troubleshoot.

It will be like having your own personal teacher to help you through the whole process.

Finally

The success of this masterclass is not just in me sending you the syllabus and notes, but rather, in your active participation in the course.

So, I highly encourage you to read the material and to practice the assignments.

Also, bake some cake. While you can’t share your cake with me, you will at least share the pictures.

I look forward to seeing your hard work on our Facebook Group.

In closing, I am so excited that you have joined this masterclass. Please, look forward to my first email tomorrow with your first lesson.

PLEASE NOTE – Most recipes in this masterclass are made with eggs or non-vegetarian products. If you can’t eat eggs please do not register for this masterclass. Currently, I do not have eggless substitutes for these recipes. I truly apologize.

  1. This really was a great course. Everything was explained and when applicable, photos so you didn’t wonder if what you were doing is what it should look like. I am not good at getting smooth sides but by making me slow down and take it one step at a time, I really felt proud of my not so smooth sides becaue I only focused ono that one thing instead of trying to do everything at once. All the tips were great and I’ve decided to make a weekly cake from start to finish until I’ve mastered the process and can achieve a smooth finished result before decorating.
