Rustic Teal Gold Wedding Cake
I just had to share with you my most recent wedding cake. I love how it turned out. Love the brush strokes on the gold and the height lights too.
I had never done this style before so was quite excited to try something new and different. Here’s a close up of the Tiger Lillie, with freesias and Roses.
I have a PDF file in my online shop on how to make the Gum Paste Freesias. These are made exactly the same way. And I have also shown you how to make Gum Paste Roses in my blog right here.
And I’ve already given you a little more information on metallic effect on cakes here in this post – Metallic Effect on Cakes
The bride was a lovely lady who contacted me from the US and sent me this dress and bouquet as inspiration.
Now, you can interpret inspiration many different ways. When you don’t know the person you are making the cake for, you can only hope that they like your interpretation of the inspiration. So I asked her if she prefers to go elegant or rustic and she said rustic sounds fun.
So I sent her a picture of sketch I thought would look good asking what she thought and how she would like to change it. She loved it. So there wasn’t much thinking on the design really. Sometimes, it just comes to you while at other times you keep changing the design over and over until you and the client both find something you both like and can do.
And that’s how this cake gorgeous cake was created.
Have a lovely week. Happy Caking
