Cake Serving Chart and Combinations
Often I get asked about how much does an 8″ cake serve or how much cake do I need to make a sixty servings.
Now these are wedding cake serving size of cakes –
These are 4″ to 6″ tall cakes which means each layer is 2″ tall x 2 or 3 layers for each tier.
Yes weather a cake is 4 inches tall or 6 inches tall you would still serve it as one slice. You don’t usually split the slice so while you use more cake it’s a tall slice of cake and does not contribute to extra servings.
The size of each Wedding Cake Slice servings would be – 1 inch X 2 inch x height of the cake .
Usually party size servings are 1.5 in X 2 in x height of the cake But I use this as my standard for both party and wedding as people prefer to serve smaller portions of cake and pay less for their cake.
So it’s pretty straight forward. These are the Round cakes most popularly used.
Example – a 6 in or 15 cm Round Cake serves 12 while a 16 in / 40 cm Round will serve 100.
